In a game as chaotic as Risk of Rain 2, dodging attacks is a must, and you can't exactly do that if all the items that boosted your ability to dodge have been turned into something else. Paul's Goat Hoof, for example, a common item, provides a boost to your movement speed. However, the problem with Benthic Bloom is that lower-tier items are much more useful than you might think. This sounds great on paper rare items are some of the most powerful items in the game, having effects that can easily turn a run around just by grabbing one.Īnd sure, Benthic Bloom may provide a noticeable power boost to your survivor. Void, Boss, and Lunar items are unaffected. Benthic Bloom takes a couple of your items and upgrades them to the next tier in order, it goes from common (white), to uncommon (green), to rare (red). Picking up a Void Item will make it so that any time you pick up the item's counterpart, that item will be transformed into its corresponding Void Item, essentially locking you out of that item for the rest of the run. Each Void Item corresponds to an existing item of another tier and can be considered its "infected" counterpart. The main gimmick of Void Items is the fact that they "infect" regular items. However, whether they intended it or not, the Void has influenced the planet and produced new and exotic items Void items, signified by the color purple. The Void Reavers, accompanied by new and intimidating Void-themed enemies, have begun their invasion of Petrichor V - like it wasn't dangerous enough already. The main focus of the DLC is The Void, a mysterious otherworldly realm inhabited by the deep-sea-themed Void Reavers. Risk of Rain 2's Survivors of the Void added an industrial shipping container's worth of content to the already large Risk of Rain 2.
